The great river road(founded in 1938) as the national parkway of the Mississippi river which cover its 2,552 mile journey to the sea starting from Minnesota's Itasca State Park.

Forest History Center

Forset History center is situated in Grand Rapids MN. Here you can enjoy logging camp, camp blacksmith, clerk, cook, saw filer, lumberjacks, wanigan(floating cook shack) and more. There is also a 1930s Minnesota Forest Service patrolman's cabin where you can sit and lookout the tower.

You can also enjoy self guided walk along the forst trails viewing exhibits multimedia theater shows, history of the forest and the forst fires show. You can also organize your meetings, family picnics, events etc on rent at the Forest History Center. Blue Mounds State Park

BMSP(Blue Mounds State Park) is most widely known for its rock climbing, hiking, Buffalo Herd, wildlife etc which is full of nature surprises. There is a swimming, camping and picnic area located on the shore of Mound Lake. The rockstarted with Sioux quartzite cliff and rise upto 100feet from the plains.

Also 3 campground loopa are situated near wildlife viewing pond. 13 miles of hiking trails and 20 miles of snowmobile trail are the major attractions within 10 miles of the park in winter with some other campsites. The park is also well known for its bird watchers who likes to see the nesting of blue grosbeaks and various other birds. Prickly pear cactus are widely seen in the month of June and July in the park. The visiting hours of the park are from now through Labor Day and Sunday to Saturday at 8am to 4:30pm. During Fall: 9:00 - 4:30 from Sunday to Saturday and in Winters: 9:00 - 4:30 from Sunday to Saturday

Banning State Park

Banning State Park is just a few minutes away from Sandstone and Askov. It is about 2hrs way in the north of twin cities area. The park is connected to the Willard Munger State Trail and is along the Kettle River.

The park features camping, cross country skiing, biking and hiking like adventurous outdoor sports along with the study of nature history of the park. Blueberry Slide, Dragon's Tooth, Mother's Delight, Hell's Gate are common attractions of the park in spring season. During summer hiking along kettle river is the best adventure of the park. Wolf Creek Falls, Log Creek Arches, Robinson's Ice Cave are other attractions of the BSP.

You can stay at new camper cabin which is best suited for five people including bunk beds, tables and benches for the visitors. The visiting hours of the park are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m during fall and spring from Sat to Mon and 10 a.m. - 3 p.m in winter from Friday to Mon and in summer 9 a.m.-4 p.m daily.

Boundary Waters Minnesota

Boundary Waters Minnesota is the best place for outdoor adventures including camping, canoeing and up close nature experiences with solitude and challenge. It is located in 1926 covered in 1.3 million acres of land in the Superior National Forset in Minnesota(northeastern).

This park is bordered with Canada's Quetico Provincial Park and Voyageurs National Park(on west). There are about 1200 miles of canoe routes, 16 hiking trails and approx 2000 campsites for attractions for the tourists.
